Eastwood Orchid Society
Our History
The inaugural meeting of Eastwood and District Orchid Circle was held in what was the projection room of the Eastwood Masonic Hall on 16th May 1944.
On 16th September 1944 the first Orchid Show was held in the Masonic Hall. On the 20th August 1945 the first monthly meeting was held at the old Eastwood School of Arts, the second Show was held on 29th September 1945 in the Soldiers Memorial Hall.
Orchid shows continued in the Masonic Hall until 1987 after this we went to The Macquarie Centre.
Our first Show at the Eastwood Shopping Centre was our Winter Show in 2000 and our first Spring Show in September 2008.

Since that time, Eastwood Orchid Society have been hosting biannual shows at the Eastwood Shopping Centre with much excitement from the local community.

Annual Events
Each year our Club has a Winter Show in July and a Spring Show in September at the Eastwood Shopping Centre. The orchids are judged in various categories and ribbons and cash prizes are awarded to the winners.
Each December we have a Christmas Party with an outside caterer providing an excellent buffet dinner. We have prize and trophy presentations during the evening and we make a substantial donation to the Westmead Children’s Medical Research Institute.
